IT Internal Control Specialist — Global Role (Porto)

Adecco Recruitment is seeking an IT Internal Control Specialist for a global client based in Porto. In this role, you will oversee the IT control framework for the headquarters, conduct design testing on scoped controls, and evaluate their operational effectiveness. You will collaborate with IT Process Owners, Application Owners, and Service Owners to ensure alignment and efficiency across compliance activities. When deficiencies are identified, you will perform impact analyses and support the team in defining action plans. Additionally, you will organize weekly follow-up meetings and steering committees with stakeholders, monitor the implementation of controls and action plans, and provide training and support to peers and stakeholders to maintain IT controls at the required regulatory and contractual levels. The ideal candidate has relevant experience in IT compliance, risk management, audit, or internal control, with a proven track record in identifying control gaps and recommending design improvements. Strong knowledge of IT General Controls, automated controls, and security controls is essential. A background in Information Systems and Technology combined with business acumen is preferred, though candidates with a business background and solid IS&T foundations (e.g., IT consultant) will also be considered. CISA or CISM certification is a plus. We require at least 3 years of experience in internal control or audit, with a focus on IT. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, active listening, adaptability to changing environments, teamwork, innovation, resourcefulness, autonomy, and strong analytical and organizational abilities are key to success in this position.
