Senior Oracle Database Administrator (ExaCC/Exadata)
We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator with expertise in ExaCC and Exadata environments. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing database performance through compression, query tuning, and indexing, with particular attention to CPU efficiency on ExaCC, reducing storage costs, and improving I/O. You will also adjust Oracle CPU allocation algorithms on ExaCC to optimize the used-to-allocated ratio and eliminate waste. Backup and recovery processes for Oracle ZFS and ZDLRA appliances will be refined to ensure both reliability and cost-effectiveness. You will lead key initiatives such as migrating to Kerberos authentication and upgrading Oracle Clients, while also advising development teams on database design, SQL coding, performance, and scalability best practices. Root cause analysis of performance issues and complex database problems escalated from infrastructure partners will be part of your duties. You will enforce access management, TDE encryption, auditing controls, and maintain high-quality audit documentation. Your contributions will extend to multi-platform environments like Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, and Synapse where applicable, and you will collaborate with infrastructure partners, development teams, and project stakeholders across various initiatives. Perfil pretendido: - University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a comparable technical field. - 5-10 years of hands-on experience with Oracle databases in production settings. - Demonstrated expertise in performance tuning, compression, and resource optimization. - Hands-on experience with ExaCC, ZFS, and ZDLRA is a significant advantage. - OS knowledge: Linux and/or Unix (primary), Windows (secondary). - Technical skills: Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM); SQL and PL/SQL scripting (mandatory); ExaCC CPU optimization, compression techniques, query tuning, Exadata awareness; Kerberos authentication and Oracle Client upgrades; Transparent Data Encryption (TDE), auditing and compliance controls; knowledge of Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse, or DB2 is a plus. - Tools: Oracle SQL Developer, Toad for Oracle; additional tools like Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Qlik Replicate, Git/Bitbucket, ServiceNow, Jira, DBeaver are advantageous. - Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
