A multinational industrial firm is expanding its Global Business Services (GBS) operations by setting up a regional GBS satellite in Portugal, supporting European activities. This centre functions strategically within a hub-and-spoke model, alongside the main hub in India and other satellite units in Asia. Join at the foundational stage and contribute to shaping GBS operations. As an R2R Oversight Accountant, you will deliver efficient accounting services to business segments, ensuring compliance with management accounting procedures and timely submission of returns. You will collaborate with various functions within the shared service centre and supported segments, adhering to established processes for management accounting. Responsibilities: Ensure all regional R2R processes comply with accounting standards (GAAP/IAS) to guarantee the reliability and integrity of financial data; complete R2R internal controls/SOX requirements on schedule; prepare, review, and approve balance sheet reconciliations, verifying accuracy, completeness, and alignment with accounting standards and internal controls; support period-end closing entries and general ledger reconciliation and analysis; coordinate month-end and quarter-end reporting schedules; develop, monitor, and maintain master data KPIs (accuracy, completeness, turnaround time) to drive performance monitoring and continuous improvement; provide insights and collaborate with cross-functional teams on designing and optimizing new R2R processes to enhance departmental efficiency and productivity; contribute to the design of new processes to improve R2R efficiency and productivity. Perfil pretendido: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; 2–5 years of R2R experience; background in a finance environment with strong numeracy skills to understand, interpret, and communicate complex accounts and financial reports; previous exposure to the US market is a plus; fluent in verbal and written English; advanced IT skills including Excel; good systems knowledge, ideally with SAP; proven ability to achieve KPIs; capacity to work under strict guidelines and tight deadlines; excellent communication skills with the ability to select the best communication channel and strong customer service orientation; proactive, responsive, and action-oriented; able to work both independently and as part of a team.
